Background

Ray and Pam have been in ministry since 1987. As co-pastors of Pursuit, they bring a rich blend of anointings to the church. Ray’s gifting is intimate worship, prophetic exhortation and preaching. Pam is a gifted teacher with a heart for relationships and the kingdom of God. Together they bring a love for God’s presence with a desire to see people grow, change and come to maturity.

Meetings

The morning and evening meetings differ in flavour and focus. Sunday morning incorporates both worship and teaching. Worship is a central part of the morning meeting and a time of intimate encounter with the Lord. It often includes times of singing in the spirit and soaking in His presence.

The evening workshops focus on lifestyle skills and ministry. (Please check with the office to confirm evening meetings.)

Ministry

Our emphasis is on hosting God’s presence and allowing His goodness to be experienced through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We expect to see miracles happen in our midst.

Doctrine

At Pursuit Church, we love to teach on the wonderful gift of God's amazing grace and the righteousness of God imputed to every believer. We hold firm to the belief that such teaching produces victorious Christians, destined to reign with Christ in this life. Who are we? We are a christian charismatic church pursuing the presence of God in the central Auckland city area. We are typical of the spirit filled pentecostal Auckland churches pursuing His presence. God is restoring and refreshing the church with a new move of His Spirit. We embrace the full expression of the Holy Spirit in our meetings as part of the emerging wine skin to host the current move of God.

We are a full gospel church with meetings similar to the Vineyard charismatic renewal churches birthed out of revival. We hold healing meetings, and pray for the sick. We teach that healing is for today, and also preach on the other new testament gifts of the spirit, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. Signs and wonders are a part of the end-time move of God bringing revival to the earth.

We seek to build an Auckland House of Prayer. While not specifically based on the IHOP model, we are a place of His presence with harp & bowl type praise and worship. We are establishing a soaking prayer church worship centre based in central Auckland city NZ, with teaching, ministry, and practical sessions of soaking in God's presence.

Bethel Church Auckland - Pursuit Church has strong ties with Bethel Church, Redding California, and is associated with Bethel through their Global Legacy Program. Global Legacy (GL) is an apostolic, relational network of revival leaders whose purpose is to bring Heaven to earth (Matt. 6:10). Following the New Testament model for apostleship, GL seeks to establish Kingdom government and to build empowering cultures.

Recognizing that relationship is the foundation of God's government, GL helps build relationships between revival leaders by developing and sharing resources, through relational gatherings at conferences, ministry events and mission trips, as well as through the internet.

GL also offers resources that equip leaders, and those they lead to transform their spheres of influence and surrounding culture into Kingdom cultures.

The leader development program offers development of an apostolic plan to change your church's culture with monthly program-focused video conferences, regular encouragement, practical helps, an annual gathering of those involved in this program and other special events. Pursuit Church is part of the local regional Global Legacy fraternal for bringing Kingdom cultural transformation to New Zealand.
