Standing Under His Banner

Moses declared in Exodus 17:15 "The Lord is my Banner". This statement was made after winning the battle with the Amalekites where Moses simply stood and raised his arms. This act of worship and trust brought victory to the people of Israel.

When we feel we have come to the end of ourselves, Jesus invites us to stand under His banner. Song of Solomon 2:4 states that His banner over us is one of love. When we choose to simply stand on His promises and trust in His strength and provision for us, we stand confidently under a powerful banner called 'Love'.

Sometimes however, when we are in a place of waiting we find ourselves under a banner of condemnation, disappointment or bitterness. Choose today to remain under God's banner of love.

When we stand under a banner of love we find it creates a place of rest that is described as glorious (Is. 11:10). However, if we stand under any other banner such as worry, anger or self-pity; you will find it produces anything but rest.

Come and stand under His banner of love. It is a rallying point. When you've done everything you know to do, simply stand. The fruit of standing under God's banner of love for us is that we experience His covering and rest. So come, and simply stand.

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2 NIV.
