Encounter Evening with Teresa Thomas

Encounter Evening Report

The evening of worship with Teresa Thomas was a special time in God’s presence. Teresa’s worship with a Hebraic and devotional style brought people into a deeper experience of the love of Yeshua. Teresa’s musical creativity and angelic voice created an environment of peace and reflection as people soaked and encountered God in a deep and real way.

Much of the evening consisted of quiet soaking music with Teresa singing and playing the keyboard. She was also accompanied by Terence Smith on guitar. Ray Watson also joined Teresa throughout the evening on vocals. Together they sang some of Teresa’s own unique worship songs as well as developed new prophetic songs around particular themes.

Much of Teresa’s music has a Messianic influence. Her heart is to minister to those with Hebraic roots and ties to Israel. One of the songs sung during the evening was O Holy One of Israel. This song of Teresa’s describes God’s constant love towards us regardless of our situation or circumstance. The phrase “O Holy One of Israel, You love me with a love that won’t let go”, was repeated throughout periods of spontaneous and prophetic singing. This song gave people a fresh revelation of God’s constant love towards us.

During the evening people soaked, read their bible or worshipped through creative forms such as dance, drawing and painting. Teresa’s simplistic, devotional style of music enabled everyone to participate in whatever form of worship they desired.

Many people however simply soaked for the entire evening. Teresa’s voice carried the sound of heaven as she led people into deeper realms of worship. Most of her music carries a soft, Jewish lilt; perfect for soaking and reflection. She sang a mixture of her own songs, some well-known choruses, spontaneous songs and also some old hymns such as Be Thou My Vision. The evening ended with Teresa singing her own version of the song Away In a Manger.

This Encounter Evening came as a prelude to the release of her new album Upon Your Shore. Her album includes the songs Away In a Manger and O Holy One that were sung during this Encounter Evening. Her album will be available here at our online store once released.

Teresa is a gifted musician and Psalmist from Washington D.C., USA. She brings a fresh sensitivity and compassion through her vocals and ministering through the keyboard. Many of her compositions come from themes found in the Psalms, hymns, devotional writings and Hebraic roots of scripture.

During her stay in New Zealand Teresa will also be the worship leader at Celebrate Messiah's annual Simcha 2013 Conference in Auckland and Christchurch. She will also be with the Daughter's of Zion. A lover of Yeshua and His chosen people the nation of Israel, Teresa has a heart to minister to Messianic believers and Messianic congregations everywhere.
