How To Play mp3 Files, Burn To CD, & Load To iPod / mp3 Player or iPhone
This page shows you how to load your downloaded mp3 files to your iPod / mp3 player, listen to them through your media player, or burn them to a CD. If you do not have an mp3 player or CD burner, you can still listen to the songs straight off your computer with your media player. All files are virus free quality mp3s. They are encoded at 128 kbps which is virtually indistinguishable from CD quality for most people. They are compatible with any mp3 player such as Windows Media Player, Musicmatch Jukebox etc and will play on your iPod or any other portable mp3 player.
Some people have mentioned problems with their mp3 player or media player (such as Windows Media Player.) It is important to realise that your mp3 player or Media Player is not involved in the download process at all, it is only used for playing back your files once they have been downloaded to the hard-drive of your computer. These instructions, however, should solve any problems you are having with your computer, media player, or mp3 player.
Play Songs On Your Computer
You can listen to the songs using your computers' media player (such as Windows Media Player). Please be careful to distinguish between your computers' media player and what is commonly referred to as an "mp3 player" - they are two different things. Your computers media player (eg Windows Media Player) is a software program that plays the music files on your computers' hard drive. The term "mp3 player" is usually used to refer to a separate piece of hardware - such as an iPod.
Once the songs have been downloaded to your computer, you may listen to them using your computers' default media player (eg Windows Media Player or iTunes Player). Simply go to the folder where you saved the song files and click (or double click) on one of them. Your media player should automatically open and start playing the song. If you get an error message or you still cannot play an mp3 file, click on the following link for further help: I cannot play the mp3 files on my computer.
If the song does not open up in your desired media player, right click (Ctrl + click if you have a one click mouse) on the file and in the drop down menu that appears select "Open With". A list of options will display. Select the name of the media player you wish to use.
If you want the songs to play one after the other (without having to click separately on each file) you will need to load the songs into the library of your media player and create a songlist / playlist.
Burn Songs To CD
There are two types of cds you can burn - an audio cd or a data cd. The following instructions assume you want to burn an audio cd so you can listen to it in your car or on your cd player.
Load Songs To iPod / mp3 Player
Once the files have been downloaded to your computer, they can be uploaded to your mp3 player so you can take your songs with you wherever you go. How you load the songs to your mp3 player depends entirely on the type of mp3 player you have. There are many players on the market which makes it difficult to be specific. Once you have downloaded the mp3 files to your computer, read the instructions that came with your mp3 player as to how you then load them to that player.
For general instructions that apply to most mp3 players, follow these instructions:
Transfer Music from Your PC to Your MP3 Player
Load songs to mp3 player
There is one exception - iTunes is very popular - if you have an ipod then follow these instructions:
To download a song onto your computer, right click on the links found on the download page and select "Save Target As". Select a folder destination on your computer to save them to. If you then want to put them into iTunes, you will need to open the folder in which you saved the songs and drag the mp3 files into the music library of iTunes. The next time you sync your ipod with your computer your ipod will be updated with the new songs that you dragged into the iTunes library. Load Songs Direct to iPhone
In order to download songs direct to your iPhone, your iPhone must be connected to the Internet and an iTunes Store account created. You will also need the Software Update iPhone 3.1 in order to search for, browse, preview, purchase, and download music from the iTunes Store directly to your iPod touch or iPhone.
