Ministry Update
This past month has been a busy and special time leading up to Christmas. We had the privilege of Teresa Thomas ministering at our church as a prelude to her album Upon Your Shore being released. The night meeting especially was a precious time in God's presence as she led us all in worship during our Encounter Evening. Her ministry comes highly recommended by The Secret Place and I hope you are blessed by her music as much as I am. Click here to listen to Teresa's new album.
I have also recently come back from a trip to Australia. This was a special time of catching up with fellow ministry friends and also taking some time off for a family reunion. I pray as the year draws to a close, you will enjoy the closeness of family and experience a greater awareness of His Presence. May your heart be full of peace and joy this Holiday Season. Our Emmanuel
Does God seem distant and estranged to you? Our God is never afar off because He is our Immanuel, God with us. It is His nature and character to be the God who is always with us. What an incredible truth.
The Lord Most High, chose to take on the frailty of mankind and become Jesus our Immanuel. Our God is not afar off, distant or unwilling to participate in our day to day lives. He is our God who is with us.
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Matt. 1:23 NKJV
God in all His holiness, majesty and splendor, left the beauty of heaven to become man. He joined the world of worry, heartache, anger, injustice, depression, sickness and lack so He could remove it from our lives. The birth of Christ shows that God came to us. God made the first step in reconciling Himself to us. We do not need to wait for our performance to be perfect before we come to Jesus. Jesus came to us first so we wouldn’t have to try and make our way to Him.
Jesus was born to connect Himself to us by taking upon Himself all the sin of mankind. The Savior of the world is our symbol of hope because He has travelled the same journey we have and identifies with our weaknesses.
"God with us" is not limited to when Jesus walked the earth over 2,000 years ago. It did not start with Jesus’ birth and end with His death. God’s name “Immanuel” is a current truth. Our God is with us. He is with us right now.
“My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” John 14:23 NIV
Our God is not just some great Being “out there”, or someone we can only read about in history. He is real and present and chooses to make His home with us. Jesus has brought us near and we can live each day with this truth as reality. As you go through life today, live knowing that God is always with you. He is your Emmanual – your God who is always with you.
